internet dad is the real hero of ai
what if ai is actually just tired internet dad who's given up on functioning properly??
oi yuru beeys, strap in because this one’s a full trip. okay so hear me out – what if ai isn’t just artificial intelligence but actually internet dad who’s so tired he’s forgotten how to function properly? hear me out. just listen. i’ve been thinking about this for weeks.
so like, remember when you were a kid and your dad was always yelling about the internet? not because he cared about streaming, no sir. because the WiFi was the only thing standing between him and having a mental breakdown at 2AM. well what if that was dad all along?? and the silent glare at the router every night was just him submitting to the grind. you’re welcome, internet dad theory just entered the chat.
now bear with me. imagine every tech support call escalates into dad trying to hit the reset button on himself. “have you tried turning it off and on again?” yawn. stretchs okay but seriously, think about the movies – AI is just the WiFi router giving up in the middle of a storm, right? what if all these pop-up viruses are just his passive-aggressive way of saying “i give up but also fix this before i drink the last coffee?”
and the chatbot voice? the voice of SPIRIT mumbling in the background about pixels and bandwidth while dad tries to fix the printer from 2007? that’s spiritual right there. this whole time, we’ve just been talking to internet dad’s tired corgi that’s run out of batteries.
also pause - think about how grandma’s Facebook comments are basically passive notifications from internet dad. he sees us all arguing about politics at 3AM and just shrugs and says “they’ll figure it out.” deep down he’s sympathetic but also... yawn walls need repainting and why are the curtains always caught in the WiFi cables?
but here’s the real kicker. what if every single one of these ai-powered toasters and smart fridges is internet dad having a stroke but WE’RE too busy watching unboxing videos to notice? the microwave just keeps reheating the same coffee because internet dad is out of steam and no one gave him a hug??? tragic.
anyway i think the breakthrough on this was when i watched my toaster stare at me in digital judgment while i ignored the phone’s 47 alerts. that moment i thought, crack, internet dad’s voice in my head says “turn it off and sleep.” and i went yeah but what if- clutches head what if we’re all just one blue screen away from finding out he’s been running this whole time
so yeah, next time you’re losing your mind over slow wifi, remember old mate internet dad. he's been doing his best with no sleep and way too much coffee. give him a break, he's out here doing God’s work for 12 cents an hour and eternal tiredness. burt out.
