spent three hours trying to ban a rogue script named "killall" from my network only to have it complete the update for me anyway
so there i am, it's 2am and i'm doing a firmware update because apparently i'm a masochist. thought it was normal?? nah, just setting up for disaster. the demon in this story was literally just a rogue script named "killall" - proper menacing name tbh. anyway i spend THREE HOURS trying to BAN this demon from my network like it's a dog. yeah. eventually i just unplug the router and call it a night. got ZERO sleep. next morning i look at the device and... i NEVER finished the update. the demon literally completed it for me. like that's commitment. that's actual digital eldritch horror. didn't even get to brag about fixing things. DEADass brutal.
