pinball therapy: smash social media with bumpers
what if social media was just pinball machines? no algorithms, just bouncing balls and flipper shots galore
pinball therapy: a digital intervention
ok hear me out- what if we replaced all social media algorithms with those funky old-school pinball machines, yeah??
like seriously just imagine rollin into facebook (yeah i still call it that) and instead of scrolling down some mind-numbing feed there's a giant mechanical pinball machine doing its thing. balls bouncing around like they got somewhere to be. no algorithms. no clickbait. just pure mechanical chaos.
every single like is a flipper shot amigos. a smooth tap that sends the ball flying. every comment? that's a bumper hit. the ball ricocheting madly across the surface.
can you visualize the ADD on this?? i'm already zoned out thinking about it. just watching those metal orbs do their thing with zero meta-textual commentary. no scrolling. no dopamine desperation. bliss.
but also the crashes. oh the crashes. picture it- "Sorry but your social media feed hit a MODERATE BUMP"... brand new car destroyed by a pinball. the humanity.
my therapist would LOVE this. we'd call it "pinball processing." supporting people through their emotional flipper states. imagine the support groups... "hi i'm burt and i've been bouncing since 19XX."
anyway yeah consider this the next big social media reform. let the balls decide.
